At Jerry Smith Services, we provide a full service that includes the planning, the permits, engineering, and then the project at hand.

When working with foundations most problems involve framing repairs that connects the house to the foundation and cement plus structural repairs. We can do simple repairs to complicated large repairs such as sinking foundations. We can pour new foundation caps, or replace entire foundations. If you have any dry rot and need it repaired please call us today at Jerry Smith Services.

Foundation Underpinning

Foundation underpinning is performed for several reasons. One reason is to support the additional loads of a second-story addition. Another reason is that the existing foundation has settled or rotated. In some cases the interior configuration has been changed by remodeling, causing the removal or the load bearing walls to change. Each foundation underpinning is unique and should be designed by a professional engineer.

It’s not always necessary to replace your foundation. If you have breaks in your foundation and if it’s left unchecked and uncorrected these breaks, in the foundation and stem, walls can end up costing you a lot more money and it could cause your structure to fail. At Jerry Smith Services, we can repair the crack with a strap, epoxy injection or a pad also known as an underpin.

Replacing a Foundation

If you’re original concrete was made of poor quality materials or has been badly deteriorated over the years, or your home was built without a concrete and steel foundation then you should consider replacing your foundation. On the other hand, if you have a foundation that was made of un-reinforced masonry, brick, or stone then you also need to consider replacing your foundation.
